The Dark Side of the Moon is a creation of J. Wes Watson, a fantasy author based in Australia. The book is available from Gollancz in the United Kingdom and is being published by Onyx in the United States. The novel describes an alternate version of our Earth, thousands of light years beneath the sea.

Set far above the icy wastes of the arctic: a massive iceberg rests upon the frozen waters of the dark side of the moon. A massive ice mass, the iceberg is carved by wind and icebergs as it melts slowly and steadily. As its ice melts, the dark side of the moon begins to push against the Earth causing massive tremors that jolt the continents and send shock waves through the ocean itself. This natural occurring phenomenon has given rise to many theories as to what is behind the dark side of the moon.

When darkness covers the skies over the globe: the polar ice caps melt and sea levels rise creating massive seas. This rising water is accompanied by torrential rain as it sweeps across land and ignites deserts which thrust into the heavens. This massive rushing water is known as a solar tsunami and has caused extensive damage to the world’s plate. As a result, the world’s soil and the ocean floor are literally buried under tens of feet of salty water. It is these rising waters that the Dark Side of the Moon covers as they rush towards the surface of the moon itself.

The dark side of the moon causes: many strange phenomena such as storms, strange auroras, and tidal changes that are not found on other days or nights. Many people believe that the dark side of the moon caused the formation of Comet Showers. Comet showers are similar to our own but are far less frequent and this theory provides evidence that the dark side of the moon is responsible for the dark side of the skies.

Perhaps the most widely accepted explanation: for the dark side of the moon is that it is responsible for the tides. This phenomenon is called perigee impact and has been measured with precision since Apollo 14 took pictures of the earth with its photographic equipment. Researchers believe that such dark particles colliding with the moon’s face caused the tides.

Whether or not there is a dark side of the moon is not in question: What is in question is whether or not there is a dark side for us to view and enjoy! A little under two months ago I took a picture of the moons new phases and posted it on my blog for all to see.

My hope is that someday someone will make a dark side of the moon photo, post it online, and share it with all of us.
